Anxiety is not just mental. It is also very physical. Anxiety can produce physiological changes in your body, causing you to sweat, breathe faster, shake, and more.

One type of anxiety disorder – known as panic disorder – is well known for its physical symptoms. Those with panic disorder often experience and live in fear of a panic attack, which is a sudden form of near disabling anxiety that some describe as feeling “like a heart attack.”

If you feel that you may have panic disorder, or you’ve been struggling with panic attacks, please contact me today and let’s discuss what you may be experiencing and how to control it.

What is Panic Disorder?

Panic disorder is a type of anxiety. Those that have panic disorder have either recurring panic attacks or live in fear of a panic attack. Panic attacks are intense, physical anxiety events. They tend to start slow and peak at about 10 minutes before a slow decline, with symptoms that include:

  • Rapid Heartbeat
  • Trouble Breathing
  • Light Headedness
  • Chest Pains
  • Feelings of Doom and Danger

These are some of the many symptoms of panic attacks and panic disorder. Despite the term “panic,” many of the symptoms are physical symptoms. That is why many people that have panic attacks see the doctor often, or worry that they may have a health issue, as the symptoms can be very similar to serious health conditions.
