Dr. Leigh Anne Randa, Ph.D. is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in individual and group therapy for adults across the lifespan. She is currently accepting limited new patients in an effort to provide maximum attention to those in her practice.
Among her areas of expertise are Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Trauma Related Disorders, Complex PTSD, Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Dr. Randa is currently re-organizing her practice, focusing more on short term therapy and life coaching approaches to helping others achieve a more fulfilling life.
Dr. Randa practices interactive, evidence-based therapy, utilizing a broad array of protocols including: EMDR, CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Exposure Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy for Depression, Skills Training in Affect and Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR), and Circle of Security. Her therapeutic approach is to provide proven and effective interventions that help patients to restore optimal functioning in work, social, school, interpersonal and other important areas of their life.
By integrating complementary methodologies and techniques, Dr. Randa is able to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
Education & Credentials
Dr. Randa completed her undergraduate work at the University of Washington, Tacoma and earned her masters and doctoral degrees from Seattle Pacific University in Seattle Washington. She has trained extensively in our country’s Veterans Administration institutions, completing her internship at the Iowa City Veterans Health Care System at Iowa City, IA and postdoctoral fellowship at the Harry S. Truman Veterans’ Hospital in Columbia, MO. She continued working with the VA as Military Sexual Trauma Coordinator and Women’s Clinic Psychologist for the Iowa City Health Care System, and later as a member of the PTSD Clinical Team at the Veteran’s Hospital in Phoenix Arizona.
Dr. Randa is licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in Iowa, Arizona, California and most recently Missouri. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and has achieved Certified Provider Status for CPT, PE, DBT, Circle of Security, and IPT. Dr. Randa believes in the importance of ongoing training and participates in advanced trainings frequently throughout the year. Dr. Randa is currently pursuing an advanced degree in Integrative Health Medicine.
Dr. Randa’s patient approach is to utilize warmth and humor to deliver evidence based therapy to her clients/patients, couched in the backdrop of believing that each person has within them the unique ability to heal and move forward. The therapeutic relationship is of primary importance to Dr. Randa, giving power to the individual as the expert on their own mental/emotional state.
